LA CROSSE TECHNOLOGY - Frequently Asked Questions

WT-966B

Section 1 - Watchband information

Question 1   How do I adjust the watchband to fit my wrist?

First of all, I would recommend that you get a jeweler to remove the links. These links can be difficult to take out and it is always a good idea to let the professionals work on our product so that the band will not be damaged.

If you still prefer to adjust it yourself and still are not able to adjust it after reading pages 9 and 10 in the manual, here are a few pointers:

Locate the arrows on the inside edge of the watch. They are engraved on the first four links nearest the clasp. Take a small diameter tool or a sturdy pin (less than one mm) and push the pin out from between the two links by pressing through the hole between said links on the edge of the watch band. Make sure that you push in the directions that the arrows are pointing. When the pin begins to stick out the other side, pull it out the rest of the way with pliers. Take out the appropriate number of links then reconnect the band in the opposite way you took out the pins.

Section 2 - Time Display

Question 1   How do I get my watch to display a time when all it is showing is either OFF or -:--?

The most efficient way to get a time on your watch is to follow the directions below:

  1. Turn the watch off during the day. Press and hold the button in for about 6-8 seconds. (The display should show OFF.)
  2. At night, around 7:00PM, turn the watch back on. Press and hold the button for a few seconds. (The display should show -:--.)
  3. Put the watch in a window facing Ft. Collins, Colorado (if possible) and leave overnight.
  4. Check the watch in the morning. If the watch shows a time, set your time zone and enjoy your watch! If it does not show a time (-:--), repeat steps 1-3 until you do have a time on the watch. It may take a few days for your watch to set to a time.

Question 2   How do I reset the time zone on my watch to show the correct time for my location?

Press and hold the button for approximately two seconds or until you see EST ZONE on the display of your watch. Immediately upon seeing the Time Zone on the display of the watch-release the button. Then press and release the button until you get to your time zone. You may have to push REALLY hard on the button to get this to work. Make sure that you press the button for no longer than 3 seconds.

EST = Eastern Standard Time
CST = Central Standard Time
MST = Mountain Standard Time
PST = Pacific Standard Time

Question 3   My watch went completely blank. What do I do?

  1. If it has been a year, or less, contact our support line
    1-888-211-1923 for further instructions.
  2. If it has been more than 1 year, go to a local store and replace the battery.

Question 3   How waterproof is my watch?

    Your watch is water resistant. It will withstand splashes of water or rain, but should not be worn when swimming or diving. As a rule, avoid any activity that may cause the watch to be “soaked” in water.
